  Her Best Foot Forward

SHOP PRODUCTS

The rich cultural heritage of the Maasai people - in particular the intricate and creative beading which is their hallmark - is celebrated in every product we make. The best part is that 100% of net proceeds from product sales support the Artisans themselves and our signature initiative, UhuruPads - East Africa's first 100% compostable sanitary pads (employing the women who make them and allowing the girls who receive them to remain in school with confidence and dignity).
The short video link provided explains how purchases and donations make a difference!

MAKE A DONATION (A GREAT GIFT TO  HONOR SOMEONE WITH AN AMAZING HEART!)
We need your support to continue to provide employment for the all-woman team operating our 100% compostable sanitary pad production facility and program in East Africa, UhuruPads.  Once our eco-friendly pads are made, we distribute them to girls in need, along with affirming health and hygiene education, and new undergarments!

Every gift matters:
as our pads cost pennies, truly every penny counts. Please note that 100% of your contribution supports the production and humanitarian distribution of UhuruPads. The Foot Forward Fund has no paid US staff and our limited administrative costs are covered via our product sales.

We have a variety of giving options available via the form below:
"One Time" Gifts. This option allows you to make a single gift (which we're confident you'll repeat in the future - once you see our impact!)
Monthly Giving. As advocates for menstrual hygiene equity for many years, it's likely no surprise that we're pretty obsessed with all things "monthly!" We've created our 5|28 Circle as a special designation we provide to donors who choose to support us monthly.  Why 5/28?  Glad you asked!
  • 5 represents the typical days of the menstrual flow
  • 28 represents the typical length of the cycle in total

Honor Gifts. Your gift can be made to honor someone on a special occasion -  or just because! Be sure to select this option, if of interest.

IN PROVIDING OPPORTUNITY.
Employment with a fair wage allows women  Artisans to better provide for themselves and their families.

Through the creative process, Artisans experience an increase in self-esteem which bolsters their confidence and leadership in other aspects of their lives.

IN THE POWER OF EDUCATION.
This Swahili proverb - Elimu ni mali ambayo adui hawezi kuiteka articulates what we believe - Education is a possession that no enemy can take. Helping HBFF Artisans access education and enrichment increases the likelihood that they will educate their children (and that their children will follow suit).
